Terms of Service

These terms explain how Royalty operates as the merchant of record and the rules that keep tokens inside the platform.

About this page

This Terms of Service page is maintained by the Royalty app owner to describe the platform rules, payment model, and member responsibilities. It is not a legal certification, regulatory filing, or independent review. If you need legal advice, please consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

What Royalty provides

Royalty is a digital publishing platform and in-app marketplace. Members create posts, interact with posts, and buy or sell posts inside the platform. Every financial transaction on Royalty is a transaction with Royalty, the merchant of record. Only Royalty accepts payments on the platform. Royalty is not a peer-to-peer payment service, money transmitter, or bank.

The only thing members buy directly from Royalty is Royalty tokens (Royalty Credits), a prepaid digital good used to access platform features. Tokens are purchased by card or other supported payment methods and are issued to the member's account. Royalty sets the price of every feature, and the platform controls when and how tokens are consumed.

Creator earnings are not paid by users. When a member uses a paid feature on a creator's post, the member pays Royalty. Royalty then allocates an earnings amount to the creator through its own creator earnings programme. All creator payments are made by Royalty directly to verified account holders.

In-app tokens, not cash or currency

Royalty tokens are a closed, non-transferable digital good. They are not currency, legal tender, a deposit account, stored value redeemable with third parties, or a financial instrument. Tokens carry no interest and have no value outside the platform.

Members cannot transfer, send, gift, tip, or withdraw tokens to another member or to any third party. Tokens only move when a member uses a platform feature, and every movement is a transaction with Royalty, not between members.

How tokens are spent

Feature prices are set by Royalty and are the same for every member. Members cannot negotiate prices or direct a token payment to a specific person. Members pay Royalty for each feature; no payment goes to another member. Current prices are:

  • Publishing a post — 1 token
  • Liking a post — 1 token
  • Reposting — 5 tokens
  • Commenting — 10 tokens
  • Sharing — 25 tokens

Spending tokens is a purchase of platform functionality from Royalty. When a member interacts with another member's post, the member pays Royalty for the interaction. Royalty may then allocate an earnings allocation to the post holder under the platform's creator earnings programme. That allocation is determined by Royalty's rules, not by the payer, and is not a payment from the payer to the post holder.

Post ownership and marketplace transactions

A member may list a post for sale at a fixed price or accept offers from other members. When a sale is completed, Royalty debits the buyer's token balance, reassigns the post in the platform ledger, and allocates the full sale amount to the seller's earnings balance. The buyer and seller do not transact directly, exchange payment details, or move money between themselves.

A post is a licence to platform features and future earnings allocations inside Royalty. It is not a share, security, investment contract, or claim on Royalty's business or revenue. Royalty makes no guarantee that any post will earn tokens or appreciate in value.

Earnings, deposits and payouts

Earnings are tokens allocated to a member's account by Royalty through the creator earnings programme or marketplace transactions. Earnings are not paid by other users; they are allocated by Royalty after Royalty receives payment for platform features or marketplace transactions. Earnings are eligible for payout at 100% of their token value.

Unused deposits — tokens a member purchased and has not spent — cash out at 100% of their token value, with no fee. Deposits are sold in $5 increments, and every deposit is split 90% purchased tokens and 10% publishing tokens. Publishing tokens are never cashable and may be used for posting only. Bonus tokens are issued only as promotions and may be spent like purchased tokens, but are not cashable.

Tokens are always spent in this order: unused deposits first, then earnings. Payout requests are reviewed by Royalty and paid directly from Royalty to the verified account holder. There is no minimum payout amount. Payouts are subject to identity verification, anti-fraud review, and payment processor requirements. Payouts are sent only to the verified account holder and never to a third party.

Abandoned publishing-token balances. Publishing tokens are promotional credits with no cash value. If an account has no activity — no login, post, engagement, deposit, or withdrawal — for 18 consecutive months, any remaining publishing-token balance may be forfeited and removed from the account. Purchased-token balances and earned balances are not affected by this forfeiture.

Prohibited conduct

Members may not use Royalty to:

  • Transfer tokens or balances between accounts, or act as an intermediary for such transfers.
  • Convert tokens to cash outside the platform, sell tokens, or cycle deposits through the platform to obtain a cash advantage.
  • Move funds through the platform rather than genuinely publish and engage with posts.
  • Post or share sexually explicit content or other content prohibited by our content policies.
  • Harass, abuse, impersonate, or mislead other members.
  • Circumvent platform fees or security controls.

Violations may result in suspension, forfeiture of tokens, reversal of transactions, and reporting to payment processors or authorities where required.

Content and account responsibility

Members keep ownership of the content they create, but grant Royalty the licence needed to host, display, distribute, and operate the platform features. Members are responsible for their posts, comments, and other activity. Royalty uses automated moderation tools to review uploads and may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law.

Account holders must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction) and must provide accurate information. Each member may maintain only one active account for their own use.

Refunds and reversals

Purchased tokens are consumed inside the app and are generally not refundable. Unused token balances may be refunded to the original payment method at Royalty's discretion, subject to review and payment processor rules. If a charge is refunded or reversed by a bank or payment processor, Royalty may remove the corresponding tokens from the account balance.

Disclaimers and limits

Royalty provides the platform on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, any specific level of earnings, or that any post will retain value. Royalty's liability is limited to the amount paid by the member for tokens in the 90 days preceding the claim, except where prohibited by law.

Changes to these terms

Royalty may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes means acceptance of the updated terms.
